God's Rainforest
There are many issues that are affecting the people of the rainforest. Timber industries take away their homes, pollution makes it harder for their environment, and eco-tourism pays no attention to them. But what of the issue of God? Many of the people of the rainforest do not know him, or have a personal relationship with him. In the midst of these major problems, don't they want somebody to turn to? Someone who is all powerful, loving, gracious? It is truly sad that most of them have never heard of Him.
Traditional customs and beliefs govern [a lot of] the rainforest people's lives. Africans, especially, used to have many customs that were very harsh. Punishments were ruthless. But what if God's law governed their lives? What if they knew that they could always be forgiven? Their lives would have been very different indeed.

What do the People of the Rainforest need to do to please God?
Many of the People of the Rainforests have been living lives away from God for many generations. The first thing that would most please God would be for them to devote their lives to Him; to have a personal relationship with him. Another thing that they could do is to be patient and forgiving in the midst of the many problems that threaten them today. They could also try to set an example for the other tribes of the rainforest, so that they, too, will know God.
A Christian Response to some of the Rainforest Issues
A Christian response to the rainforest issues would be to seek God's word, and them to do what God says. For example, in Genesis, it tells us about how God told us to take care of the Earth. That means that we have to try to save the rainforests. But in numerous parts of the Bible, it also says to be kind, loving, peaceful; that means we also have to consider the people who need the money they get form their jobs, being part of deforestation/palm oil production. We would have to think about how God reacts to this situation, then do the best we can to do what we think is right.
The situations that rainforests and the rainforest people are in today are not simple at all, and require a lot of careful consideration.
