People of the Rainforest
There are many tribes of people who live in the rainforest. They live in many different countries, such as New Guinea, Brazil, Australia and Africa. To these people, the traditional methods of living and celebrating are very important and the destruction of the rainforests is threatening this way of life.
Most of them are hunter-gatherers or farmers. (If they are hunter-gatherers, that means that they hunt animals and gather plants for food.) They rely heavily on the rainforest. All of the tribes are very knowledgeable about the edible plants and animals in the forest. Most of them also have a village Shaman who knows the medicinal properties of the trees.
